St. Andrew's Church, Exwick

Built 1841-42 by architect John Hayward, this church was later enlarged in 1873-75 by Hayward at the expense of William Gibbs of Tyntesfield.

However, the church's planned tower was never built.

The original 1841 reredos by Simon Rowe was embellished in 1875 with Salviati mosaics of the Ascension of Christ flanked by two apostles on each side. Incidentally, the chapel at Gibbs' estate built at the same time was also decorated with Salviati mosaics and he may have suggested their use in Exwick.

Tait Chapel, Fulham Palace

William Butterfield designed the current chapel for Bishop Tait in 1866-67.

The Salviati mosaic reredos depicting the "Nativity" or "Adoration of the Magi" - also designed by Butterfield with cartoons by Alexander Gibbs - was moved to the west wall after reorganization of the chapel following bomb damage in World War II.

A 1901 edition of "The Graphic" shows some pictures of Fulham Palace, including the Chapel in the top center.

St. Michael and All Angels Church

Serving the Great Witley Parish and adjacent to Witley Court, this church was built in a simple, Georgian style in 1735 by architect James Gibbs.

However, starting in 1747 the church began to be embellished with Baroque decorations on the direction of Thomas, the 2nd Baron Foley.

The reredos were a gift to the church from Rachel, Countess of Dudley in 1913 and were manufactured by Salviati.

The floral motif is reminiscent of the design used on the Funerary Monument of Giulio Salviati.
