St. Paul's Cathedral, Dundee

Located on the High Street in Dundee, this Scottish Episcopal church was built 1853-55 to designs by G.G. Scott. Constructed of brown sandstone in the Gothic Revival style, it wasn't dedicated until ten years later and it wasn't raised to cathedral status until 1905.

The large Salviati mosaic of Christ in Glory in the Clayton & Bell designed reredos dates to 1865.

From an 1887 guide to St. Paul's: "An elaborate piece of alabaster work with shafts of various marbles, and enclosing a rich piece of mosaic by Salviati of Venice, designed by Messrs Clayton & Bell. The subject is our Blessed Lord in glory, surrounded by adoring angels. The Central Figure is of great dignity - seated and crowned - holding in one hand the cross-crowned orb of the world, and the other uplifted in benediction. Immediately beneath are a circle of the cherubim and seraphim, while below angel figures, two with censers, and the rest with various musical instruments, are grouped in graceful order. The plinth of the reredos is inlaid with malachite and other stones, and the whole is surmounted with some fine pinnacles, terminating in the symbolic figure of a pelican feeding her young with her blood, with angel figures on either side."

St. Peter's Church, Chetnole

This church dates back to the Thirteenth Century. Slater and Carpenter refurbished the building between 1860 and 1865, including rebuilding the chancel.

Salviati inlaid the alabaster reredos with mosaic during this time.

Buxton Memorial Fountain

S.S. Teulon designed this monument that was erected in 1865 to the memory of Thomas Buxton and others who were involved in the 1834 abolition of slavery in the British Empire. It was originally located in Westminster's Parliament Square, however, it was later moved to its current location in nearby Victoria Gardens.

Salviati decorated the fountain with mosaics, seen mostly around and within the gothic arches and trefoils midway up the structure.

Hawkley Parish Church

The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Hants was designed by S.S. Teulon in a Norman style and built in 1861-65.

Although Antonio Salviati documents his work as being "reredos" within the church, the side chapel altar seems to be the only place decorated with mosaics.
 

The chapel's altar has three lunettes featuring white birds on a black background.

St. Michael and All Angels, Shoreditch

In 1858, there was a severe lack of churches in this extremely poor London neighborhood. In fact, there was only church space for 1 in 11 people, while 17 clergymen were each responsible for about 7,000 individuals. Designed by James Brooks, this church was built 1863-65 for a total of 7,500 BP in an early Pointed French, rather than English style.

Because of declining congregations, the church was closed and deconsecrated in 1964. The parish at that time was united with St. Leonard's in Shoreditch. Consequently, the St. Michael's building was turned into the home of the London Architectural and Salvage Supply Company Limited in 1976, which occupied most of the space for over thirty years.

In 2007, Westland and Company took over the church to use as showrooms for its architectural garden and decorative antiques business.

A 1908 photo shows what the altar looked like, however, the actual location and current status of the Salviati mosaics in the church that consisted of an "ornamental design" is unknown.

St. James Church Cowley

This 12th century Norman church was enlarged by G.E. Street in 1864-65.

Salviati's ornamental decoration for the church can be seen in the mosaic background of the Crucifixion on the altar reredos.
