Orvieto Cathedral

The building of this Roman Catholic cathedral in northern Italy started in the 13th century. Maitani's Tuscan Gothic facade recalls the cathedrals at both Siena and Florence. Cesare Nebbia designed the original mosaics from 1350-90.

Just like with St. Mark's Basilica in Venice, Salviati's craftsmen also restored the mosaics on the upper part of this cathedral's facade sometime before 1883.

Neuer Dom, Linz

The new cathedral also known as the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic church built 1862-1924 after designs by Vincenz Statz.

Salviati decorated the apse with 24 mosaic figures.

Priory Church of St. Dominic

The priory opened in 1867 and its Roman Catholic church was built in 1874-83 by Charles A. Buckler in an Early English style.

Buckler also designed the neo-Gothic High Altar, which is embellished with Salviati mosaics.

Catholic Parish of St. Brigid's, Marrickville

St. Brigid's Retreat was built in 1886 and it was later taken over by Irish Passionists. The current Catholic church was built 1918-21 and it is the second largest church in Sydney.

Salviati & Co. made the mosaic altar reredos for the original church based upon a commission from the Very Reverend Father Bertrand Mangan (1873-1933), who left Ireland for Australia in 1915.

The 13th Station of the Cross is one of the fourteen mosaic scenes also by Salviati depicting Christ's Passion.

The Annunciation, Chislehurst

Architect James Brooks built this Catholic church 1868-70.

Nathaniel Westlake designed the mosaic tympanum of The Last Judgment that Salviati made in 1890.

Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street

Architect Joseph John Scoles designed this Roman Catholic Church that was built 1844-49 and which is run by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).

Henry Clutton designed the church's outer aisles and several chapels including the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament (also called the Sacred Heart Chapel) in 1860, which may be why his name is associated with Salviati's Venetian mosaics from around the same time that are located above A.W.N. Pugin's high altar.

Presented in 1875, the two mosaic panels depict the Annunciation and the Coronation of the Virgin, respectively.
