Engineer Mauro Herlitzka was born in Trieste in 1871, but moved to Argentina at age 26. He rose to prominence first in the electrical industry, then telecommunications. His neo-Byzantine family vault built in 1920 is located in Buenos Aires' Recoleta Cemetery, plot 442.
Salviati mosaics decorate both the interior and exterior of this sepulchral monument.
